May 14, 2015 marks 10 years since I delivered my first wedding cake! I remember a restless night of sleep as I anxiously waited to see this wedding cake settled prominently in the center of the venue.

I arrived to Captain’s Club at Woodfield hours before the bride and groom would make their grand entrance. The room was calm and quiet, with all the details in place. I looked around the room at the gorgeous centerpieces filled with various shades of pink and ivory flowers. Then I looked at the sweet little favor boxes laying at each place setting and the lovely chair covers knotted with pink bows. There was a warm feeling in my heart, as I knew this wedding cake was the last detail to enter the room. I enjoyed the silence as I assembled the cake and added the finishing touches. As I stepped back, I admired all the details around the room and how the four-tiered cake added to the beauty of that wedding day.

180 wedding cakes later, I still step back and love every moment of every detail! Looking forward to participating in the celebration of 22 more weddings in 2015! Best wishes to every couple preparing for marriage!
